Cudmore Grove Country Park

Cudmore Grove Country Park is a stunning nature reserve situated on Mersea Island which overlooks the Colne and Blackwater Estuaries. You can expect a sandy beach and salt marsh, rolling meadows and grassland, and some of the most impressive views. There’s also a themed play area for children and several historical remains too! You might decide to pack a picnic and blanket and spend the day paddling, reading, bird watching or simply spending time with loved ones. Whatever the season, Cudmore Grove is a fantastic spot to visit.

Mersea Vineyard

Is wine your tipple of choice? Whether you prefer a glass of something sweet, dry or sparkling, we’d highly recommend heading down to the Mersea Island Vineyard. Book a scheduled tour and find out about the remarkable history of the vineyard, plus indulge in some wine tasting. You’ll find that there’s also a brewery here too which produces a range of beers.

Watersports in Mersea

Step out into the great outdoors and try an activity that is guaranteed to get your blood pumping. Watersports are fantastic, super popular activities and can often promote a number of physical and mental health benefits. From clearing your mind and feeling fitter to simply enjoying or challenging yourself, there is so much to gain from having fun and getting active. You may even find that you have a hidden talent and could decide to do it on a regular basis. This might be a great way for you to bond with loved ones or meet new like minded people. Whether you’d like to try paddle boarding, kayaking, windsurfing or sailing, you’re likely to find that there’s something for everyone.

Beach Day

If you fancy something a little more lowkey, then why not head down to the beach? Dip your toes in the water, go for a paddle or simply sit back, relax and watch the waves. If you’re a bookworm, it’s the perfect setting for you to get engrossed in a good book with the waves hitting the shore as the perfect, soothing soundtrack. Creatives might also find that the therapeutic nature of the beach helps to get their creative juices flowing. The beach is also a great spot for picnics with family and friends, date nights watching the sunset and indulging in a little ‘me time’.
